So it's one of those thin blankets from, you know, that place. It's not a proper, thick winter blanket, so don't get any ideas. It's basically a glorified sheet with commitment issues.
The fabric feels like it was woven from dried-out tea leaves and the ghosts of cheap public sector uniforms. It's scratchy in a way that makes you think it's mildly offended by you, but also weirdly flimsy, so if you pull on a loose thread the whole thing might just give up and turn back into a ball of yarn.
The colors are always some sad, washed-out version of a color that was once cheerful. Think "depressed marigold" or "beige that's seen some things." The stripes are never straight, and the fringe on the end looks like it was chewed off by a goat with poor depth perception.
It's too thin to keep you warm on a cold night, but just thick enough to make you sweat uncomfortably on a mildly cool one. Its primary purpose is to exist in a state of permanent semi-usefulness at the foot of your bed, or to be draped over furniture that you don't want people to sit on.
You'll probably buy it from a dusty shop where the owner looks at you with profound disappointment for choosing it. It's the textile equivalent of a sigh.
