Vintage Smith-Corona Galaxie Twelve portable manual typewriter with integrated carrying case. This amazing space age typewriter was Made during the early 1970s.

The typewriter and case are in very good vintage condition. Please use photo zoom to get a good look at condition. It was not been tested.

A Smith-Corona Galaxie Twelve in near mint shape. This machine was manufactured in 1970 - 1975. Cosmetically, this typewriter is just about as perfect as they come. Even the carrying case, despite having some dings on the outside, is extremely clean inside and out.

Mechanically, this typewriter is just as perfect, and is fully functional right down to the bell. Just as the other late Smith-Corona models are, this typewriter is a beast and makes for an excellent typer. Equipped with a slightly wider, 12-inch carriage, this typewriter can type lengthwise on standard 8 x 11 papers with ease. Keep in mind that this typewriter writes in a slightly smaller than standard 12 pitch font (12 characters per inch instead of 10).

The Galaxie also has some very advanced features that enhance the typist's experience such as a 'Power Space' bar for fast and accurate advance of individual spaces; Half-Space Key, and a large tabulator bar placed conveniently above the keyboard. It comes in a Brown case.

Use a dry lint free cloth to dust off the exterior parts regularly.Stains are easily removed with a damp cloth.

Move the carriage to the extreme right and left and wipe off the exposed parts of the carriagerails.Slide the Ribbon Cover forward to brush any dust or erasure grit that accumulates on thesegment. Remove the platen and brush away any dirt.Clean the feed rolls and platen with a cloth moistened with a platen cleaner.
